Quarantine Reading List

April 16, 2020

In spite of these dire times, I've tried to make the most of the extra time by reading more. To my surprise, I have read more books in the past two-ish months than I have in my entire adult life. Like they say, "it's never too late [to become a reader]."

Below are the books I have read, I am currently reading, and I wish to read while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Completed

  • Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell
  • The Martian by Andy Weir
  • The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
  • Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
  • Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain
  • Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear
  • Close to the Machine by Ellen Ullman
  • Coders: The Making of a New Tribe and the Remaking of the World by Clive Thompson

In Progress

  • The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (HHGTTG book #2), by Douglas Adams

Wishlist

  • Artemis by Andy Weir
  • Recursion by Black Crouch
  • Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
  • The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton
  • The War of Art: Break Through the Block and Win Your Inner Creative Battles by Steven Pressfield
  • Foundation by Isaac Asimov
  • The Soul of a New Machine by Tracy Kidder
  • Life in Code: A Personal History of Technology by Ellen Ullman
  • The Making of Prince of Persia: Journals 1985-1993 by Jordan Mechner

If you have any suggestions you think I should add to my wishlist, please let me know!

Update (April 20, 2020)

Finished two of the books I was reading when I originally published this post. I also wanted to add a link to my Goodread's "Want to Read" list which is a little more comprehensive than the Wishlist above.

Speaking of reading lists, I came across a super cool site today on Product Hunt: Good Books (https://goodbooks.io). From their site:

6,500+ book recommendations from the most successful and interesting people in the world.
